my sammy and me

Above is a picture of my favorite (almost) eight year old and me, taken last week. I'm very fortunate to have a cousin and his family that lives just a couple of miles from us. We don't see NEARLY enough of them, however. It's just amazing to me how busy life gets...and that sometimes we don't take time for things that are truly important.

Like Ed and I, Sammy's mom and dad are KU basketball fans ...so we got together for pizza and to watch a game last week. Unfortunately for my Sammy, bedtime came before tip-off, but we sure had fun reading before he had to call it a night. It seems that one of us may have been a bit too wide for a comfy fit in the chair. Can you guess who? : )
