What a weekend! This is the weekend that we celebrated Ed's mom's 'official' transition into retirement. After nearly 34 years with the federal government (the last 12 or so with the EPA), Jan decided to call it the proverbial day.
The weekend fun started on Friday, with Ed's brother and nephew arriving in the morning. Also in from out of town were one of Bob's brothers and his wife, and...a surprise visit from a sister living in California. We were at dinner Friday evening when Ann arrived...and Jan was sooooo surprised!!!
The retirement reception was Sunday evening at rustic Renee Kelly's on Johnson Drive. What a beautiful environment for an event such as this!!!
Another surprise in the day was a spin in a limo. We all went to the Plaza for a celebratory cocktail to kick off the afternoon. Below is a photo of Jan, Mark, Chad and Ed... arriving at Renee Kelly's in style!.

I'm plum worn out today...and am contemplating a nap! We've been celebrating for weeks now...with this being the last 'event' in the string of birthdays, holidays, and weddings ...so I'm in the process of shifting my mindset to get back into ordinary time.
